Where Ganga Meets Shiva, the Soul of Kashi Lives
Hospitality with divine essence
Kashi Anandam is not another resort property—it is the passion of a small family devoted to creating an atmosphere of genuine hospitality, love, and the essence of Kashi, an essence that is slowly fading in the modern world.
The location itself gives profound meaning to the brand. The resort rests gracefully on the banks of Maa Ganga, beside the sacred Shooltankeshwar Mahadev Temple—the very point where Ganga Maa first enters Kashi. History tells us that Lord Shiva himself descended here, placing his trishul into the earth to request Ganga Maa to slow her flow and pass gently through Kashi. This is one of the rare places where the holy river takes the Uttar Vahini (northward) direction. It is also believed that the city of Varanasi rests upon the three spokes of Shiva’s trishul—Shooltankeshwar being the first, Kashi Vishwanath at the center, and Markandey Mahadev the third. The sacred site of Shooltankeshwar also stands at the highest altitude in Varanasi, adding to its sanctity.

The very discovery of Kashi Anandam was nothing less than divine will. Our founder, Mr. Udit Vasudeva, first saw the Shooltankeshwar Mahadev temple in a dream and was drawn to seek it out in reality.
A home beyond walls
Upon experiencing the aura of the place, he felt compelled to acquire a small piece of land nearby. During the days of the pandemic, he realized that this land carried a rare spiritual energy—an aura that souls of all ages seek in one form or another. What began with just 8 boutique rooms soon grew, shaped by the love and encouragement of our guests. Today, Kashi Anandam has expanded to 56 rooms, yet each corner still carries the intimacy and warmth of its beginnings.
